Become certified with the Small Business Development Office as a Minority Owned, Women Owned, Small, Small Local, or Veteran Owned Business! The service is free and the City of Boston now offers cross-certification with the Supplier Diversity Office. The mission of the Small and Local Business Enterprise Office (S/LBE) is to create economic opportunity by certifying the availability of the following entities to the City of Boston: - Small & Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) - Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) - Woman Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) - Veteran Owned Small Business Enterprise (VOSBE)*. The S/LBE office advocates on behalf of these businesses to help them compete successfully for City contracts as well as in the Boston area's economy as a whole. Application: The City of Boston Certification Application *Veteran Owned Businesses must be certified by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
